History
It all began on the 9th October 1975 with the purchase of the hydroelectric plant on the Albarine, upstream of Tenay, in the department of Ain. It was bought by Jacques Piot through the SNC Piot, Hubert & Co. The Tenay plant 400m downstream was bought in March 1976.
The site, then in ruins since being decommissioned in 1965, was completely rebuilt by Mr Piot who installed four Francis turbines (2 Goulut & Borne, one Boussant, one Magnat Simon) and a propeller turbine.
The average production was 3.2 million kWh for drop heights ranging from 5m to 13.5 m.
During the drought of 1976 and the resale of the two plants, Mr Piot experienced difficulties finding a buyer, and thought it would be a good idea to create a company linking Buyers and Sellers of plants. Thus HYDRO SERVICES CONSULTANTS (HSC) was created on the 1st October 1977.
The offices were initially based in Bois Guillaume in the suburbs of Rouen, before relocating to Franqueville St Pierre until 2007.
